Privacy Policy
Guard Arc is a tool security companies use to schedule guards, record time, and share updates with clients. Dwelbase Inc provides Guard Arc, including the Guard Arc app for iPhone and the Guard Arc app for Android. This page says what we collect, why we keep it, how long we keep it, and who we share it with.

What the iPhone app collects
When a guard uses the Guard Arc app on an iPhone, we collect:
- Name
- Mobile phone number
- Email address, if the company adds one
- Location while the guard is clocked in on a shift. That includes where the guard is, how accurate the location is, speed, direction, and whether the guard is moving. Location recording stops when the guard clocks out.
- Photos and short videos the guard adds, including a profile photo, a form or a document, and sound in those videos
- Files the guard chooses when the company asks for a document, such as a PDF or a photo file. The file is sent to Guard Arc for the security company.
- A signature the guard draws with a finger on a form, or on a document the company asks them to sign. The signature is sent to Guard Arc for the security company.
- Messages the guard sends in the app, including a photo on a message
- Reports and notes the guard writes on a shift, including tour scans
- Time records and forms filled out on a shift
- The kind of phone, and a short device name if the phone sends one. Sign-in uses the label officer-app. This version of the app does not send a token for shift notices
A sign-in attempt records the network address so we can limit repeated code requests. We do not collect an advertising identifier. We do not use this information to track a person across other companies’ apps or websites.
What the Android app collects
When a guard uses the Guard Arc app on an Android phone, we collect the items in this section. We also collect the items listed for the iPhone app.
Location
The Android app asks for precise location and approximate location. While the officer is clocked in on a shift, the app collects location even when the app is closed or not in use. A point can include where the guard is, how accurate the point is, speed, direction, and whether the guard is moving. When the phone allows precise location, the point is precise. When the phone allows only approximate location, the point is less exact.
The officer’s employer or security company uses this location to see that the officer is on post during the shift. It is shared with that employer or security company. To stop it, clock out, or turn off the location permission for Guard Arc.
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera and photos on the phone. A guard can take or choose a profile photo, a photo or a short video for a form, a photo of a document the company asks for, or a photo on a checklist. Those photos and videos are sent to Guard Arc for the security company.
Files and signatures
The guard can choose a file when the company asks for a document, such as a PDF or a photo file. The guard can draw a signature with a finger on a form, or on a document the company asks them to sign. Those files and signatures are sent to Guard Arc for the security company.
Microphone
The app uses the microphone so a short video recorded for a form includes sound. It is not used for a separate voice recording.
Checkpoint tags
On a tour or a checklist, the app reads a checkpoint tag and sends the tag id to Guard Arc so the security company can see the guard reached that stop.
Notifications
While the officer is clocked in, the phone shows a notification that location is shared only during the shift. Android keeps that notification up so location can continue when the app is not on screen. The app does not read notifications from other apps.
Also sent with a shift
The Android app also sends the guard’s name, mobile phone number, and email address if the company adds one. It sends messages, reports and notes, time records, and forms. Sign-in tells Guard Arc the phone is Android and uses the label officer-app. A sign-in attempt records the network address so we can limit repeated code requests.
What we collect
From the security company:
- The company name
- Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of owners and office staff
- Site names and addresses
- Schedules, time records, and forms
From guards and other staff, the items listed for the iPhone app and the Android app.
From clients:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number, if the company adds one
- The updates and reports the security company chooses to share
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Sign people in, including with a texted sign-in code
- Build schedules and send shift notices and open-shift callouts
- Record hours and where a guard was while clocked in
- Keep photos, messages, reports, and forms from a shift
- Show a client the updates their security company sends
A client does not see a guard’s phone number, photos, or pay. A guard does not see another guard’s location, phone number, or pay.
How long we keep it
We delete location recorded while a guard is clocked in after 7 days.
We keep names, phone numbers, email addresses, photos, messages, reports, time records, and forms while the company uses Guard Arc. A deletion request, and the 90 days after the company stops using Guard Arc, follow Deleting your account.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers needed to run the app, such as hosting and text message delivery. They may use it only to do that work for us.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to track people across other companies’ apps or websites.
We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
The security company can see its own staff, schedules, on-shift location, time records, photos, messages, and forms. That company is the officer’s employer or security company. A client sees only what that company shares with them.
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your information in either of these ways:
- Email support@guardarc.com. Include your name and the mobile number or email on the account.
- In the Guard Arc app, open Settings and tap Delete my account.
What we delete
When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the guard’s name, mobile number, email, profile photo, and phone sign-in.
Work records stay with their employer. That includes messages, shift photos and videos, reports, notes, forms, checkpoint tag scans, and time records.
What we keep
On-shift location is still auto-deleted after 7 days. A deletion request does not shorten that.
Payroll time records, and records kept for legal reasons, are kept as long as the law requires, usually at least 3 years.
Other employer records are kept while the company uses Guard Arc, and deleted within 90 days after the company stops using Guard Arc.
